Lee 'Davis' Lancaster - 5:30-9:00am Weekdays

Lee “Davis” Lancaster- General Manager/Co-founder Legacy Broadcasting
Lee@todayschristiancountry.com, let him know what you think!

Lee's aspirations to be in broadcasting started early in life partly due to the success of his older brother (Jeff Davis - WLS Chicago) Lee started in radio in 1977 and has spent the last 40 years using the gifts and drive the Lord has giving him to express the hope and power of Jesus Christ. Lee says “ when God called me to Christian Radio in 1984 I knew He had a better plan for me than I could ever have for myself”. Lee has run radio stations as Program Director, Operations Director and General Manager for the past 25 years of his career and is currently General Manager and also holds down the morning air shift on KYMS/Legacy Broadcasting.

Kay Poland - 9:00am-2:30pm Weekdays

Music/Public Service Director/Co-founder Legacy Broadcasting
Kay@todayschristiancountry.com, you can give her information about whats going on!

Kay never intended to go into radio, but God often redirects our paths for His purposes. She was studying music when God did a major redirect and put her directly in the path of the Director of Fullerton College’s radio program. One class was all it took and 30 years later, she’s still in radio. She began her career at the original KYMS in Santa Ana, CA in 1988. After 3 ½ years, she moved on to KSPK in southern Colorado which, at the time, was a country station. After moving back to southern California, she briefly moved out of radio to stretch her programming skills in designing audio entertainment for the airlines. Then it was right back into the pool with an overnight shift at the former KEZY/KORG, a top 40 station. On a visit to some old friends at KWVE in San Clemente, she unexpectedly found herself in the general manager’s office being asked “When can you start?” and she’s been in Christian radio ever since. She spent eleven years at KWVE, eventually becoming Operations Manager. After about 10 years, she felt the Lord telling her that her time there was drawing to a close and soon, they offered her the opportunity to move to North Idaho (where her family lives) to start a radio station for Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. Two years later, CCCM offered the station to her and Lee thus Legacy Broadcasting was born. Kay currently serves as Community Affairs Director and Music Director along with her midday air shift.

Kris Siebers - 2:00-7:00pm Weekdays

Director of Branding/Imaging, Assistant Music Director
Kris@todayschristiancountry.com

I was born in Spokane, and I spent my childhood in Northwest Montana. I did my first radio shift way back in 1991 in Kalispell, MT. In 1999 I moved to North Idaho, and worked for 11 years in the Spokane radio market. Budget cuts caused me to try some "real" jobs for almost a year, then in November 2011 I started volunteering here at KYMS. Today I am the Branding Director, which means I'm responsible for the overall sound of the station. I'm also your Cruisin' Buddy from 2-7pm weekdays, playing Today's Christian Country requests! I am truly blessed to be part of this radio station and its ministry and I pray that lives get touched by what we say and do here on KYMS!

Steven A. Scroggins - 7:30pm-12:00midnight Sunday-Friday nights
Steve@todayschristiancountry.com

I have always loved music. I remember back in my home state of Indiana as a young boy, when I didn’t feel well, knowing it would sooth me, I would ask for music to be put on the old tube radio. Interesting how some sixty years later, I find myself still being comforted by music from a radio! Here at KYMS 89.9fm it is my pleasure to be hosting the evening show 7:30pm-midnite Sunday thru Friday. The time between songs in our powerfully anointed playlist is filled with giggles and grins and lots of scripture to help bring the point home, that we are a Christian Country radio station that is not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

God has been very kind to me, allowing a rich past of experiences to help flavor my friendly banter. Having been a poet and lyricist from 1962 on, I began playing harmonica in 1971, while in the US Air Force, the same year I asked Jesus to be my Savior. Toured with Blues and Rock bands for many years and in 1976 my guitar partner, Robert “Doc” Haley, and I were part of five folks who founded channel 10 public access television in Palm Springs, mainly to help promote our band. In the 80s & 90s I was founding pastor for Calvary Chapel Coeur d’Alene, where The Treasure House Ministry was produced and aired locally on public access television and ACN radio. Visual arts have also been woven into my life as I am an internationally collected local artist and gallerist (Steven A. Scroggins Fine Art). My tag line on my art business card reads “Every Mark Matters!”. I think that about sums it up for me. It is my deepest desire that all I say, do and think, every mark, should bring glory to my God! Oh, and we all need to smile alot!

I like to say I've lived on all four corners of the country and grew up right in the middle. I've moved a lot, but for the past 20 years, have stayed here in the Inland NW. I was in love with radio from the first time I walked into KSLQ in St Louis, Missouri, accompanying a friend who had just won a prize (vinyl!! It was vinyl!!! Yeah, I'm that old). I found my way to the college radio station at Cal Poly Pomona where I was on air and music director. Life happened after graduation and I detoured into other things. Around 2009, I felt a pull to return to radio and after a couple of false starts, wandered into the studios of KYMS radio. I've never looked back. I'm married and have two adult children who are the lights of my life. I'm also a writer with a passion to see people healed of the chains that bind them and keep them from becoming all that God has for them. I'm on the air from midnight to 5:00am, Monday through Friday. In addition to my on air duties, I'm also that person that maintains the ever changing list of community stuff that we have on this website. I'd have to say that my life verse is Micah: 6:8; "He has told you, o man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God?"

Carrie Anne - 12:00noon-6:00pm Saturdays

Hello, everyone! I came to the Inland Northwest from The Four Corners area of New Mexico. My first radio shift was in 1995, and even though the job only lasted a little over a year , to this day, it remains my favorite. After a hostile takeover of that radio station left the entire staff out of a job, I worked the retail, utility, and oil/gas industries for the next leg of the journey I call my life. Then, in the Spring of 2015, I came up to Hayden, where I've been ever since. I met Kay during Traditions of Christmas 2015, and when she found out I had radio in my background, the rest was history! I've been volunteering here at KYMS since mid-2016. I'm excited to be a part of this ministry, and I pray that what we do here at KYMS leaves God's handprint on our community. May the Lord bless you and keep you!

Glen - 8:00pm-12:00midnight Saturdays, 12:00pm-6:00pm Sundays - "The Rhinestone Highway"

Glen@todayschristiancountry.com

As a kid growing up in Southern California, the dream of going into broadcasting was planted at a young age! I was a huge fan of the LA Dodgers’ Hall of Fame announcer Vin Scully and I just knew that one day I was going to take his job as the Dodger play-by-play announcer! History will show – that didn’t happen!! But God did have other plans for me and broadcasting dream remained alive!

In my teenage years, I started by doing public address announcing for our local Little League, then moved on to study Communications/Broadcasting in college and getting my first on-air work at the local radio station doing rock and roll. Shortly thereafter, I was asked if I would take a Saturday afternoon slot on an all soul/ R & B weekend block. It was an honor to be the first white DJ to do a shift during this block and I picked up the nick-name the “Blue Eyed Brother of Soul!”

From there God took me in another direction but I eventually made my way back into broadcasting. Later, I took a job as a sports announcer at an all-news station; then moved to a Classic Country radio station where I held the Sunday morning slot and developed a show called “God’s Country”, a mix of Country and Southern Gospel music. All of this while working as the Manager of Media Services at the University of Redlands in California for 24 years before retiring in 2016.

I am truly blessed to be part of God’s vision for KYMS and Today’s Christian Country! I was involved in helping to promote and launch Contemporary Christian Music station, KLRD, in Yucaipa, CA and I also was a board operator in its initial year. Not realizing back then what God had started, KLRD went on to become the mothership of what is now the AIR 1 radio network. I believe that God can and will do the same thing with KYMS/Today’s Christian Country as we spread the love of Jesus to the country music world!

Rick Hensley - 7:00-9:00am Sundays - Southern Gospel Sunday Morning

Rick@todayschristiancountry.com

Rick "Faithful Man Servant". I have known the Lord since I was 6 years old. My Dad took the time to lead me to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in a bunk bed. I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a part of Southern Gospel Sunday Mornings on Today's Christian Country. It is a dream for me that I have the opportunity to share my love of Jesus to as many people as possible. I hope you enjoy the segments we do on the show of a Southern Gospel Artist, a Christian Heritage Story and the history of Hymns each week, but most of all, we have an invitation to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Our goal for this station is to bring people closer to Jesus by wonderful music and great Bible teachers from our area. Our prayer is that we are a blessing to your life. Thank you for listening. Any questions or comments, please contact me at www.faithfulmanservant.com.

Ron Vander Griend

Ron is Technical Director of Tower Management/Expansion and Board member of Legacy Broadcasting

Ron began his technical career with 6 years in the US Navy that included two years in Engineering School. When he was honorably discharged (STG2 Division Lead electronics and radio mechanics), he was hired by the first company he interviewed with (Cubic Defense Corporation in San Diego) and worked in various positions and divisions. While employed there, he graduated earning his BBA (magna cum laude) from National University. During that time he worked communications and engineering in various telemetry systems that involved design of tower sites both off grid and on grid, installing antennas and various communications equipment both off shore and on land. Over his 29 year tenure, duties included project engineering to project management of teams, engineering design, marketing, contract negotiation, moving to Director and finally VP of one of Cubic’s subsidiaries. Some programs ranged between few hundred thousand dollars to up to as much as one hundred million dollars. Cubic relocated him to various US cities and foreign countries overseeing and /or negotiating contracts and programs. Many of those long plane rides afforded him much time for Bible Study as accepting our Lord was the highlight of his life midstream of this career. Some of Ron’s major customers were in Israel where he developed relationships and friendships.
