More songs have been sung to Him, artwork created of Him, and books written about Him than anyone who’s ever lived. Naturally, someone this important will have friends and enemies. Lots of people have an idea of who Jesus is. They may get this idea from TV or movies, maybe from a past church experience, history books, or maybe a teacher at school. But just because we have ideas of who Jesus is doesn’t mean we actually know Jesus. When this question is personalized, it becomes the most important question one will ever be asked or answer. Who is Jesus Christ to YOU? Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10, NKJV).
In 1 John 5:11-13 we are told that if we have the Son in our life we can KNOW that we have eternal life. Jesus is the only way for us to live an abundant life here on earth, or receive eternal life in fellowship with God. Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins so that we could be sinless in the eyes of God. If we do not receive the free gift of eternal life by experiencing the forgiveness achieved by Jesus’ resurrection, then we will receive the punishment we justly deserve. Jesus must become the Lord of our lives in a real and tangible way . If He hasn’t been invited into your life and involved in a personal relationship with you, it’s not to late. You can change your life at this very moment. Admit your sin, repent of it before God. Believe in the atonement of Jesus on the cross and receive the gift of eternal life which Jesus died to freely give you. Invite Jesus into your life to live through you and thank Him for doing so. Pray this prayer or one similar to it in your own words and receive the forgiveness you’re needing.
Dear God, I come to you in the name of Your son Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins. You said in Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved. Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to Your Word, right now I am saved and I turn from my old life and choose to live a new life in Jesus.
Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.
Amen.
